About the role: The right fit for this role is someone who has supervisory experience in the front of the house of a busy restaurant that has 10+ seats. You will be:

You have:

*A minimum of 1-year experience in a front of house supervisory role is considered an asset
*Passionate about hospitality and helping create great experiences through food and drink
*Experience in applying values-based leadership and being a role model through your actions
*Experience in supporting workplace inclusion by helping support a welcoming and positive team environment and actively identifying and removing barriers to individual success
*Experience in delivering constructive feedback, having difficult but important conversations, and ensuring each individual is accountable for their role on the team

Food Service and Catering Manager - Full Time

We are looking for a great person to join our team as Catering Manager to help create an awesome workplace where we work together in creating great guest experiences in food and hospitality for our guests.

The Trucks Catering Team operates at different events across Vancouver, including breweries, festivals, and street sales. We also support catering for Tacofino and help create awesome experiences in food and service for people's events.

You will be:

*Overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Truck Team
*Working with the Catering Sales Coordinator in order to secure details of the event, including the number of guests, permit requirements, location, allergies, and menu items
*Produce and maintain consistent standards of food quality and customer satisfaction
*Being the point of contact at events
*Ensure that all menu items produced by staff meet the specifications of the recipes provided
*Inputting daily sales and providing tip out
*Maintaining all kitchen equipment, scheduling truck repairs, and ensuring truck is regularly serviced
*Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper rotation of product
*Ensuring all staff are in compliance to appropriate safe food-handling procedures as per the Vancouver Coastal Health Guidelines
*Providing additional support to your team when required, such as jumping on a station and supporting the line to expedite lunch and/or dinner services
*Interviewing, hiring, orientations, ongoing training and development opportunities, coaching, and progressive discipline
*Maintaining food and labour targets
*Attending regular meetings with leadership team
*Ensuring compliance with health & safety, HACCP, and Food Safe
*Assist with maintaining up to date station pars, station prep lists, and temperature logs
*Assist with the counting and submission of bi-monthly inventories
*Represent the interests and core values of the Company in the workplace at all times
*Other duties as required

You have:

*6 months minimum in a leadership role in a fast paced & professional kitchen environment
*Experience in catering is considered an asset
*Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record
*Basic knife skills
*Experience with inventory counts and ordering
*Food Safe Certification Level 2 considered an asset
*First Aid Level 1 is considered an asset
*Ability to work evenings and weekends, according to the needs of the business

*Creating invoice reports, payroll and inventory for the accounting department
*Planning for and participating in weekly meetings with the Operations team
*Other duties as required

To be qualified for this role, you will have:

*A minimum of 4 years of culinary experience in a fast-paced, high volume & professional kitchen environment
*A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role managing 5+ employees in both front of house and back of house
*Food Safe Certification(s) and Serving it Right
*Proven cooking Ability, excellent knife skills, and a seasoned palate
*A strong, positive, and supportive leadership style
*Culinary Arts or Red Seal Certification considered an asset
*A demonstrated passion for soulful food, people, and the restaurant industry
*The personal skills of being a self-starter, flexible, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
*Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize
*Ability to work evenings and weekends according to the needs of the business
