You will be:

*Overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the restaurant
*Fostering and maintaining a safe and positive work environment for your team that encourages efficiency and growth
*Ensuring consistent standards of food quality and guest satisfaction
*Working with the Executive Chef to learn new recipes, ensuring they are to the specifications as outlined in the company’s recipe guide
*Monitoring and maintaining food and labour targets to meet goals, including sales and community initiatives
*Ensuring all staff are in compliance to appropriate safe food-handling procedures as per the Vancouver Coastal Health Guidelines
*Providing additional support to your team when required, such as jumping on a station and supporting the line to expedite lunch and/or dinner services
*Interviewing and hiring for all positions within your team
*Providing orientations, ongoing training and development opportunities, and performance reviews for your team
*Providing disciplinary action and performance management when warranted
*Creating schedule templates, forecasted labour, and sales tracking
*Maintaining kitchen systems and timelines for ordering, food production, station pars, equipment maintenance and opening/closing duties of all back of house staff
*Submitting daily orders for prepared food items from the Production Kitchen
*Performing and submitting bi-weekly inventories
*Maintaining accurate and up-to-date recipes and records
*Creating invoice reports, payroll and inventory for the accounting department
*Planning for and participating in weekly meetings with the Operations team
*Other duties as required

To be qualified for this role, you will have:

*A minimum of 4 years of culinary experience in a fast-paced, high volume & professional kitchen environment
*A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role managing 5+ employees in both front of house and back of house
*Food Safe Certification(s) and Serving it Right
*Proven cooking Ability, excellent knife skills, and a seasoned palate
*A strong, positive, and supportive leadership style
*Culinary Arts or Red Seal Certification considered an asset
*A demonstrated passion for soulful food, people, and the restaurant industry
*The personal skills of being a self-starter, flexible, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
*Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize
*Ability to work evenings and weekends according to the needs of the business

Beverage Program Coordinator - Full Time

Tacofino - Vancouver, BC

About the Role:

Creativity

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and passionate individual to lead and be the face of our beverage program. This role would champion the building out of our beverage program, plan seasonal cocktail menus, and train and develop our bar teams in creating awesome experiences in drinks and hospitality. You will also be partnering with location leadership and the Head Office team in supporting events, including charitable initiatives that have the goal of helping raise money and awareness of organizations uplifting the communities we operate in.

Operations

Beyond the creative aspects of this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with Liquor Representatives to get the best product at the best price, creating recipes and partnering with our prep kitchen in creating ingredients to specifications, and building strong inventory management processes for our bar teams to ensure accurate product levels.

Growth

You will support the Bar teams including two Bar Supervisors at our two full-service locations (Tacofino Gastown and Ocho). You will be working side by side with them by providing training, coaching, as well as general support in bartending shifts split between both locations.

You will play an active role in helping develop training and planning regular beverage seminars to support the continuous growth opportunities for our people.

The Role Duties:

*Supporting an inclusive work environment through being an adaptable leader who values diversity and role models the behaviours they expect in others with their actions; trains people and champions our values and policies that support a positive and inclusive environment
*Creating and maintaining bi-annual menu changes (fall/spring) with a work back schedule that includes planning and implementation and all tasks in between to ensure a smooth rollout
*Supporting and championing the control of our liquor, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic inventory management system and providing support to location leaders to support the troubleshooting of variances
*Building key performance indicators that are measured quarterly to support decision-making and guidance for menu and product updates
*Annually building and maintaining strong relationships with liquor suppliers and representatives in an effort to get the best possible liquor at the best possible price
*Working with the Head of Food & Beverage in procuring ingredients for cocktails at the best possible price
*Building out recipe booklets in our inventory system; working with the Prep Kitchen to ensure the product is made to specifications; training location bartenders and leadership in creating cocktails
*Working with and training a team of two Bar Supervisors in supporting our Full-Service Restaurants
*Providing bartending support 2 days per week split, including supporting the locations for holidays, shift coverage, and support during *inventory between two locations (Tacofino Gastown & Ocho)
*Supporting location bar inventory processes and championing them through your team to ensure accurate product levels and reporting
*Partnering with location leaders to create exciting new events, partnerships, and events to support the communities around us
*Leading as a role model and championing Tacofino’s vision, mission, values, and workplace policies
*Scheduling and hosting regular beverage seminars to support the ongoing development of our FOH teams; holding Quarterly seminars at each location, educating the teams on Tequila and any new products that we have brought on
*Supporting the opening of new Tacofino locations through consultation on new bar build-outs and designs and the training and development of leadership and FOH team members and implementing bar inventory management processes

Reporting Structure

*This role will be reporting directly to the Head of Food & Beverage and will partner closely with the Guest Experience Manager and Burrito Bar Operations Manager
*When in the locations performing bartending shifts, you will be supporting the bartending team while upholding Tacofino’s standards and quality
*You will partner with location leaders in the training and development of bartending teams and education all FOH team members on our products

Qualifications

*A passion for inclusion: an adaptable leader who values diverse representation within the team and has experience in adapting to individual needs
*Experience in leading by example and championing an inclusive and safe work environment with their actions, training folks on workplace policies that support a positive and safe workplace;
*3 years of experience in managing a beverage program, including working with suppliers and representatives
*2 years of experience in leadership, including providing coaching and development
*Great and adaptable communication skills
*Strong organizational skills
