About you: We are growing and have an opportunity for a great person with a strong passion for cooking who is looking to join our team as a Line Cook. You will have the responsibility of executing menu items in a timely manner, providing support to your teammates and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Responsibilities:

*Writing daily prep lists for your station
*Food preparation: cutting, portioning, frying, baking, following recipes, putting away orders, and cleaning of kitchen tools and facility as required
*Ensure all food preparation and storage procedures are followed as outlined by Vancouver Coastal Health, to include FIFO and appropriate labeling
*Playing a role in ensuring a respectful workplace environment by professional communication with all team members and customers
*Other duties as required

Qualifications:

*6+ months experience in a fast-paced & professional kitchen environment
*Ability to identify and prioritize daily tasks

Chef de Cuisine - Full Time

Mount Pleasant (Ocho) - Tacofino

Tacofino's newest concept - a coal-fired Mexican Style grill, is looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Chef who is passionate about culinary art. The right person for this position is a natural leader who keeps their finger on the pulse of culinary trends. You will be responsible for delegating tasks, preparing awesome food for our guests, interviewing and providing ongoing learning opportunities to your team, keeping on top of kitchen inventory management, and partnering with the Sous Chef to come up with new and delicious dishes to add to our growing menu.

You will be:

*Overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the kitchen staff
*Ensuring consistent standards of food quality and customer satisfaction
*Working with the Executive Chef to learn new recipes, ensuring they are to the specifications as outlined in the company’s recipe guide
*Monitoring and maintaining food and labour targets as outlined by the General Manager and the Executive Chef

To be qualified for this role, you will have:

*A minimum of 5 years of culinary experience in a fast-paced, high volume & professional kitchen environment
*Experience with inventory counts and ordering
*Experience with an inventory management system, preferably Optimum Control
*A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
*Food Safe Certification Level 2 considered an asset. If you don't have it we will get it for you
*Culinary Arts or Red Seal Certification considered an asset
*Ability to work evenings and weekends according to the needs of the business
